Terms of use

These terms cover your use of the Spot Vinyls app and website ("Spot Vinyls", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using Spot Vinyls, you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

Who can use Spot Vinyls

You must be at least 13 years old. You're responsible for your account and for everything posted from it, so keep your sign-in details to yourself.

What you post

You can add record stores and share record finds, including photos, notes, prices and links. Stores and finds are public. Only post things you have the right to share, and keep them accurate to the best of your knowledge.

You keep ownership of what you post. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display and adapt it (for example, resizing photos) so we can run and promote Spot Vinyls. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies already shared by others or kept in backups for a limited time.

Zero tolerance for objectionable content and abuse

We don't allow content or behavior that:

• is sexually explicit, violent, hateful, harassing, threatening or discriminatory;
• targets, bullies or impersonates another person, store or business;
• is spam, fake, misleading, or unrelated to records and record stores;
• shares someone else's private information;
• infringes copyrights, trademarks or other rights;
• is illegal or promotes illegal activity.

We have zero tolerance for objectionable content and abusive users. If you break these rules, we may remove your content and suspend or permanently disable your account, without notice.

Reporting and moderation

Every store and find in the app has a Report option. You can also email support@spotvinyls.com. We review reports within 24 hours, remove content that breaks these terms, and disable the accounts of people who post it. We may also remove content or accounts on our own initiative. Photos are checked automatically when you upload them, and photos with explicit content are rejected.

Store listings and claims

Store details come from the community and may be out of date. Check with the shop before you visit. If you claim a store, you confirm that you own or manage it. False claims may lead to your account being disabled.

The verified owner or manager of a store can correct the details of finds posted at their store (such as title, artist, year or price) and mark them as sold or gone. Those finds show that they were updated by the store. Your photos and notes stay as you posted them. Store owners must use these tools honestly, not to hide accurate finds or prices.

Verified owners and managers can also post events at their store. Events must be real, happen at that store, and have accurate dates and times. Fake or misleading events will be removed.

Prices and finds

Finds and prices are what other people saw in a store on a given day. We don't sell records, and we can't promise that a record is still available or still at that price.

Ending your use

You can stop using Spot Vinyls and delete your account at any time in the app under Account → Delete account. We may suspend or end access for anyone who breaks these terms.

Disclaimers

Spot Vinyls is provided "as is" and "as available". To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the service will be accurate, uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, we won't be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data, arising from your use of Spot Vinyls. Our total liability for any claim is limited to US$50.

Changes

We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for significant changes, let you know in the app. Continuing to use Spot Vinyls after a change means you accept the updated terms.

Apple

These terms are between you and us, not Apple. Apple isn't responsible for Spot Vinyls or its content, has no obligation to provide support for it, and is a third-party beneficiary of these terms with the right to enforce them.
